Job summary

CHAOS Industries is redefining defense communications. The Communications Systems Engineer will own the connectivity backbone of CHAOS fielded systems, integrating 5G/cellular, SATCOM, point-to-point wireless, and mesh radios.

You will drive verifiable requirements, interfaces, and verification from factory tests to field deployment. You will monitor emerging comms technologies and steer the most promising into product baselines while ensuring readiness for international deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of systems engineering experience in SATCOM, wireless, or tactical networking.
• Knowledge of SATCOM, RF, antenna systems, and modem/RF chain fundamentals.
• Familiarity with LTE/5G NR and international band plans; Starlink terminals advantageous.
• Strong IP networking understanding including VPNs, routing, and switching.
• Ability to develop and verify requirements across product lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Translate mission and customer needs into verifiable system requirements for connectivity.
• Develop connectivity architectures across cellular/5G, SATCOM, and mesh networks.
• Perform RF analysis, link budgets, and regulatory compliance checks.
• Lead trade studies on performance, size/weight/power, cost, and reliability.
