Job summary
Evergreen Talent Partners seeks a Commissioning Engineer for hyperscale and enterprise data center projects across North America. Join a fast-growing team traveling up to 80% to project sites, shaping commissioning processes, and delivering fully tested systems on time. You will lead commissioning from kickoff to turnover, develop and execute scripts for electrical, mechanical, and controls, and coordinate with owners, contractors, and vendors.
Qualifications
3+ years of commissioning experience in mission critical or data center environments.
Strong understanding of critical electrical infrastructure (UPS, switchgear, generators, ATS, power distribution).
Experience commissioning mechanical systems (chilled water plants, CRAH/CRAC units, DX cooling, liquid cooling).
Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, one-line diagrams, and controls sequences.
Experience leading or participating in Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work directly with owners, contractors, and engineering teams.
Willingness to travel up to 80% to project sites across North America.
Responsibilities
Lead commissioning activities from project kickoff through final owner turnover on hyperscale and enterprise data center projects.
Develop, review, and execute commissioning scripts for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls systems.
Perform and oversee Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning activities across critical power and cooling infrastructure.
Lead Integrated Systems Testing (IST), including emergency power transfer testing, failure scenarios, redundancy validation, and load bank testing.
Coordinate commissioning schedules with general contractors, MEP subcontractors, equipment manufacturers, and owner representatives.
Manage punch list items, verify corrective actions, and ensure systems are fully commissioned before project turnover.
Review construction documents, MEP drawings, control sequences, and equipment submittals to verify compliance with project requirements.
Produce commissioning reports, functional performance documentation, issue logs, and final turnover packages.
Serve as a technical resource on-site, helping identify and resolve commissioning challenges while maintaining project schedules.
