Job summary

DLR Group is hiring a Commissioning Authority to support multiple high-profile projects across Workplace, Federal, Education, Hospitality, Healthcare, and more. You will travel to job sites to perform reviews, functional testing, and diagnostics, with 30–50% travel expected.

The role requires +7 years commissioning experience, strong knowledge of building design/construction, and familiarity with energy use and IEQ.

Qualifications

• +7 years hands-on experience in commissioning building systems.
• Familiarity with commissioning for new construction, major renovations, and existing buildings.
• Understanding of energy use, IEQ, operations, and maintenance in building commissioning.
• Experience evaluating and testing system performance with MEP/building automation.
• Excellent written and oral communication, strong organizational and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Review design and construction documents for compliance with Owner’s Project Requirements and Basis of Design.
• Develop commissioning plans, specs, pre-functional checklists, and functional tests.
• Perform site inspections and functional testing to verify system installation and operations.
• Collaborate with contractors, owners, occupants, and operators to identify improvements.
• Identify, track, and resolve issues impacting system performance.
