Job summary

Howards Mechanical Inc. is seeking an HVAC Journeyman Lead to manage on-site commercial and industrial sheet metal and duct installations in Amarillo, TX. The role requires coordinating field operations, reading blueprints, and ensuring safety and quality on large projects with federal and government exposure.

You will oversee on-site teams, collaborate with project managers, and drive timely delivery while maintaining high workmanship standards. Travel up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a sheet metal journeyman or duct installer in commercial/industrial HVAC.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, architectural layouts, and duct specifications.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for project assignments.
• Strong communication and organizational skills for field installations and team coordination.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and meet tight schedules.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex commercial sheet metal fabrication and ductwork installations per blueprints and specs.
• Manage daily field operations to deliver HVAC projects safely and on schedule.
• Coordinate with project managers and site superintendents to maintain project timelines and material efficiency.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation of progress and quality control.
• Resolve on-site technical challenges and air distribution issues to maximize system performance.
• Mentor and guide junior apprentices in the field.
