Howards Mechanical Inc. is seeking an HVAC Journeyman Lead for commercial, industrial, and federal projects in Amarillo, TX. You will oversee on-site field operations, mentor apprentices, and drive high-quality duct installations per project specifications.

Salary is $35–$40 per hour with performance bonuses, plus full benefits. Travel up to 10% is required, and the role offers growth within a family-owned company.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a sheet metal journeyman or duct installer on complex commercial/industrial HVAC projects.
• 50%35
• Able to read mechanical drawings and duct specs.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Independent worker with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex commercial sheet metal fabrication and ductwork installations in accordance with blueprints and technical specs.
• Manage daily field operations to ensure HVAC projects are delivered safely and on schedule.
• Coordinate with project managers and site superintendents to maintain project timelines and material efficiency.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation regarding project progress and quality control standards.
• Resolve real-time technical challenges and air distribution issues on site to maximize HVAC performance.
• Mentor junior apprentices in the field to foster professional growth and safety.
