Job summary

Axis Connected Technologies in Fort Myers, FL is seeking an experienced Lead AV / Low-Voltage Technician to own projects from prewire to punch list on commercial sites. This hands-on leadership role reports to the Director of Technologies and involves coordinating crews and ensuring successful installations.

You will review drawings, install AV systems, networking, surveillance, access control and fiber, while mentoring technicians and maintaining high-quality, safe job sites.

Qualifications

• Prior professional AV or low-voltage field experience required.
• Lead-technician or foreman experience strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in active construction environments.
• Some Florida travel is required.

Responsibilities

Full-Time | $28–$35/hour based on experience

Axis Connected Technologies is looking for an experienced Lead AV / Low-Voltage Technician who wants more than another installer position.

We're looking for someone we can hand a scope, drawings, equipment and a crew and trust to take ownership of the project—from prewire and installation through troubleshooting, punch list and completion.

This is a hands-on field leadership position. You'll work directly with our Director of Technologies and company ownership while helping lead technicians and deliver commercial technology projects throughout Southwest Florida and across the state.

What You'll Work On

Our projects include commercial AV, Q-SYS, UniFi networking, structured cabling, distributed audio, DIRECTV commercial/COM3000, surveillance, access control, fiber and integrated technology systems for country clubs, hospitality, restaurants, multifamily communities and other commercial properties.

No one needs to know every platform we use. Strong fundamentals, leadership, troubleshooting ability and a willingness to learn matter more.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Lead technicians and installations on active commercial jobsites
• Take projects from prewire through final installation and punch list
• Review scopes, drawings, equipment lists and project requirements
• Install, terminate, test and troubleshoot Cat6/Cat6A, coax, speaker cable and other low-voltage infrastructure
• Build clean, professional equipment racks
• Install TVs, displays, speakers, cameras, network equipment and AV systems
• Install and troubleshoot commercial audio and distributed 70V systems
• Assist with Q-SYS systems and commissioning
• Install and troubleshoot UniFi gateways, switches and wireless access points
• Install and service commercial DIRECTV and COM3000 systems
• Assist with surveillance, access control and fiber systems
• Identify field problems and develop solutions before they become project delays
• Direct technicians and coordinate daily field activities
• Track materials and communicate shortages immediately
• Communicate professionally with GCs, superintendents, customers and other trades
• Maintain clean, organized and professional jobsites
• Provide accurate progress updates and complete punch lists
• Take ownership of company tools, equipment and vehicles

The Person We're Looking For

We're especially interested in technicians coming from commercial AV, low-voltage integration, structured cabling, smart-home integration, networking, security or field-service leadership.

Experience with platforms such as Q-SYS/QSC, UniFi/Ubiquiti, Control4, Crestron, Lutron, URC, ELAN, commercial audio, surveillance or access control is valuable.

Requirements

Prior professional AV or low-voltage field experience is required. Lead-technician, foreman or field-supervisor experience is strongly preferred.

You must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, the ability to work from ladders and lift/install AV equipment, and be comfortable working in active construction environments, equipment rooms and occasional outdoor/attic conditions.

Some Florida travel is required.

$28–$35/hour depending on experience, technical capability and leadership background.
