Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking an experienced Lead Coder in the Revenue Cycle team to mentor staff, optimize coding workflows, and ensure accurate clinical documentation across Epic EHR systems. The role acts as a liaison between physicians and support staff to resolve complex billing issues and maintain compliant reimbursement processes.

You will oversee daily productivity, training new hires, conducting performance reviews, and analyzing charge lag reporting.

Qualifications

• Requires professional certifications such as CPC, CCS, or RHIT.
• 5–7 years of robust coding experience in a healthcare organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities for training and group sessions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily coding workflows and productivity of the coding team.
• Mentor staff, conduct shadowing, and performance quality reviews.
• Serve as liaison between physicians and support staff; troubleshoot complex billing issues.
• Ensure clinical documentation integrity and adherence to government regulations while using Epic.
• Provide analytical insights to revenue cycle leadership and monitor work queues for coding concerns.
• Step in as hands-on contributor to fill gaps and maintain reimbursement cycles.
