Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead coating and lining inspections on industrial projects, with hold-point sign-off authority from the coating spec, verifying surface prep, application, and cure, and performing adhesion and holiday tests.

Key qualifications include AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2, 2+ years’ inspecting under it, and knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards for tank, pipeline, or structural coatings.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification required.
• 2+ years of coatings inspection experience under CIP Level 2.
• Knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from the coating specification and manufacturer's data.
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs; write inspection and nonconformance reports.
