Job summary

Unknown Company seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead protective coating and lining inspections on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects, with sign-off authority at hold points.

You will plan holds from the coating specification, verify surface preparation, application, and cure; perform adhesion and holiday testing; supervise Level 1 inspectors; and write inspection reports for owners and engineers.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 2 certification active, with 2+ years of inspection experience.
• Strong command of SSPC/NACE surface prep standards and coating systems.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.
• Ability to stop an application that is out of specification and document corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating specs.
• Verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off at every hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing.
• Dispostion defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors and review their logs; write inspection reports.
• Represent the inspection program to the owner and applicator.
