Job summary

Kovoro is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer / Lead Machinist near Cincinnati to develop and optimize NC programs using Mastercam and NX CAM. You will lead machine setup, perform first-article inspection, and mentor a small team of operators in a precision shop that handles exotic alloys.

The role requires interpreting AS9100/PPAP/FAIR requirements, close collaboration with quality engineers, and participation in DFM discussions during quoting to drive delivery and margin improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming experience using Mastercam, NX, or equivalent CAM software.
• Hands-on experience with 5-axis machining centers and/or Swiss-type lathes.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tool selection, speeds/feeds optimization, and workholding for exotic materials.
• Ability to interpret AS9100 / PPAP / FAIR documentation requirements.
• Experience machining titanium, Inconel, or medical-grade stainless is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize NC programs using Mastercam and/or Siemens NX CAM.
• Lead machine setup and first-article inspection.
• Mentor a small team of operators.
• Work with quality engineers to ensure FAIR/ballooned drawing requirements are met.
• Participate in DFM discussions with customers during quoting.
