Job summary

F.K. Instrument Co., LLC in Clearwater, FL seeks a Lead CNC Machinist to oversee a milling group, set up and operate 3- to 5-axis CNC mills, and ensure parts meet tight customer specifications and delivery targets.

You will mentor operators, optimize cycles, and uphold safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of unaided setup/operation experience, GD&T proficiency, and familiarity with Fanuc controls.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
• 7+ years setting up and operating 3, 4, 5 axis CNC mills and horizontal machining centers.
• Ability to edit and troubleshoot CNC machinery.
• Preferred Fanuc control experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of CNC machinists, delegating tasks and providing guidance and support.
• Train and coach new hires on policies and procedures.
• Set up and operate CNC mill machines using set up sheets and written instructions.
• Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct machine setup/adjustments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve programming and operating issues.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following safety protocols.
• Monitor labor entries and productivity.
• Study blueprints and work orders to determine tooling and sequence.
• Organize materials for next orders to reduce cycle time.
• Recommend improvements to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Share expertise and act as a machining operations resource.
• Communicate effectively with team and other departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
