Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo, NY invites a Manufacturing Engineering Lead (CNC Machining) to guide a team of Manufacturing Engineers on a broad spectrum of CNC technologies. The role blends hands‑on engineering with people leadership, shaping equipment strategy and continuous improvement across the shop floor.

You will mentor engineers, advance machining processes, and collaborate with operations, quality, and engineering to resolve complex challenges while supporting long‑term manufacturing strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience; or an Associate with 9+ years; or 13+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Hands-on experience in a CNC machining environment.
• Strong CAD/CAM programming experience and process development knowledge.
• Experience with CNC turning, milling, Swiss, grinding, EDM, or multi‑tasking machines.
• Understanding of tooling, fixturing, process optimization, and root cause solving.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing issues and driving improvements.
• Ability to mentor engineers, machinists, and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Manufacturing Engineers in a diverse CNC machining environment.
• Act as technical expert for processes, strategy, and continuous improvement.
• Support CNC turning, milling, Swiss, grinding, EDM operations.
• Drive safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost improvements.
• Provide hands‑on CAD/CAM programming, troubleshooting, and development.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to solve technical challenges.
• Develop training plans and coach performance for future talent.
• Lead root cause investigations and risk reduction efforts.
