Job summary

Moog in Buffalo, NY seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Lead to guide a team of Manufacturing Engineers across CNC machining. You will drive process improvements, mentor talent, influence equipment strategy, and stay hands-on on the shop floor.

This leadership role combines technical manufacturing engineering with people leadership, shaping the growth of our Industrial Group’s machining operations while maintaining close shop-floor involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/associate degree with significant experience in CNC machining.
• Hands-on CNC machining experience and CAD/CAM programming.
• Experience with multiple machining technologies (turning, milling, Swiss, grinding, EDM).
• Strong understanding of tooling, fixturing and process optimization.
• Mentor engineers, machinists and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Manufacturing Engineers in a diverse CNC environment.
• Serve as technical expert for processes, strategy and continuous improvement.
• Support CNC turning, milling, Swiss, grinding and EDM operations.
• Drive improvements for safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost.
• Provide hands-on engineering support via CAD/CAM programming and troubleshooting.
• Partner with Operations, Quality and Engineering to resolve challenges and boost performance.
• Develop training plans, coach performance and build future talent.
• Lead root cause investigations and manufactur­ing risk reduction.
