Job summary

Engineering Resource Group, Inc. seeks a Lead CNC Machinist to drive high-precision manufacturing, primarily for medical device components. The role focuses on technical performance and continuous improvement of CNC work centres, including MIM and standalone plastic/metal part production.

You will support engineering and new product development, while developing innovative tooling and fixtures to boost process capability, machine utilization, and overall manufacturing efficiency.

  • Proven expertise in CNC machining and programming.
  • Experience with multi-axis milling and lathes.
  • Strong GD&T and tolerance control knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize CNC machining performance and maintain process capability.
  • Machining MIM components and plastic/metal parts.
  • Support engineering and new product development initiatives.
  • Develop tooling and fixtures to improve efficiency and capability.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times, machine utilization, setup time, tooling life and costs.

Job description

  • Lead CNC machinist for a manufacturer of high-tech, precision components, primarily for the medical device industry.
  • Primary responsibilities will include:.
  • Technical performance and continuous improvement of CNC machining work centre.
  • Machining MIM components and stand alone production of plastic and metal parts.
  • Provide support for engineering and new product development initiatives.
  • Develop innovative tooling and fixtures to improve process capability and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, machine utilisation, setup efficiency, tooling life, and overall manufacturing costs.
  • 10+ years experience in CNC machining, CNC programming and CNC setup.
  • Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling, and experience with CNC lathes.
  • Experience machining carbon steels, stainless steels, engineering plastics, and various alloys.
  • Proficiency with Mastercam with 3, 4, and 5-axis machining.
  • Solid understanding / experience with GD&T and tolerance control.
