Job summary

Barber-Nichols is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate manual machines and CNC lathes/mills in support of production. You will handle 2-axis CNC horizontal and VTL lathes, and, as needed, 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills, while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least four years of machine tool setup and operation in ISO/AS/MIL STD prototype environments, with attention to complex documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum four years of machine tool setup and operation in an ISO/AS/MIL STD prototype/job shop environment using complex documentation and verbal/written instructions.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual machines to support CNC production.
• Set up and run 2-axis CNC horizontal and VTL lathes; as needed, set up and run 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills.
• Organize, stage, and move materials for efficient workflow.
• Evaluate and requisition purchased tooling and supplies.
