Job summary

Ultimate Staffing in California is seeking experienced CNC Machinists II and III to join a growing manufacturing team. This role involves setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC lathe machines to produce precision components to specification.

Ideal candidates will have strong setup experience, blueprint reading skills, and proficiency with precision measuring tools, with Machinist III capable of leading small teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining and setup experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC lathe machines.
• Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection methods.
• Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, metalworking practices, and close-tolerance machining.
• Knowledge of SPC and quality control processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes per blueprints and work orders.
• Select tooling, fixtures, and materials for production.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Monitor tool wear and adjust as needed.
• Troubleshoot setup and machining issues to improve productivity.
• Lead small teams and mentor Machinist II staff as applicable.
• Maintain production records and shift communications.
