Jobtailor is seeking a senior Platform Engineer to design and operate the landing zone and multi-account AWS/Azure environments, focusing on Terraform module development and scalable CI/CD pipelines. Qualifications

  • 8+ years related work experience.
  • Experience building and operating a cloud infrastructure/platform engineering team in an AWS or Azure multi-account environment.
  • Hands-on experience with landing zone design.
  • Hands-on Terraform skills, including reusable modules, state management, and pipeline-driven deployment.
  • 1+ year leadership experience, including direct supervisory experience, project team leadership, training, coaching, auditing, or providing day-to-day direction to team members.
  • Related Bachelor's degree required
  • Working knowledge of cloud identity management, federation, and short-lived credential patterns.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking fundamentals and encryption services.
  • AWS Cloud Certifications preferred
  • Azure Cloud Certifications preferred
  • VMware exit or large data center migration experience preferred
  • AWS GovCloud experience preferred
  • Kubernetes, OpenShift, or EKS experience preferred
  • FedRAMP Moderate or High environments experience preferred
  • Policy as code using Open Policy Agent, Sentinel, or equivalent preferred
  • Healthcare, financial services, or other regulated industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design and build the landing zone, including Organizations structure, OU model, account vending, and guardrails
  • Build and maintain the Terraform module library and platform CI/CD pipelines
  • Lead the platform engineering team by setting technical direction, assigning and reviewing work, mentoring engineers, and developing skills
  • Define reference architectures and enable application teams to self-serve
  • Review designs and author ADRs
  • Represent the platform in governance forums
  • Set up centralized logging and configuration monitoring using CloudTrail, Config, and CloudWatch
  • Detect and remediate configuration drift across accounts
  • Build automated account vending using Control Tower and Account Factory for Terraform
  • Maintain the Terraform module library consumed by other teams, including versioning and testing
  • Build and operate the foundational cloud environment supporting GuideWell application teams as the company migrates off existing data centers
  • Own the landing zone, multi-account structure, and Terraform module library across commercial and GovCloud partitions
