Job summary

Akamai Technologies seeks an experienced backend developer to own and lead our Cloud Platform initiatives in the United States. You will architect, implement, and extend the Cloud Management API using Go and Python, on a Serverless platform, while expanding Kubernetes with custom operators.

You will collaborate with product groups and partners, tackling challenging engineering problems, leveraging ArgoCD and other cutting‑edge tools to deliver scalable SaaS solutions.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of backend development experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Exposure to AI/ML, LLMs, inference performance, observability tools, and analytics platforms.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting complex JSON and data structures for innovative algorithms.
• Proficiency in object‑oriented programming and test‑driven development in Python and Go.
• Experience building applications on Kubernetes with microservices.
• Experience with cloud environment design and development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on the architectural roadmap of the Cloud platform.
• Build and develop the Cloud Management API in Go and Python on a Serverless platform.
• Extend Kubernetes by developing custom Kubernetes operators in Go and Python.
• Work with Serverless Applications, ArgoCD (GitOps), Kubernetes Native Operators, and related tech.
• Solve complex engineering problems and lead the design of the SaaS solution.
