Job description

Metric5 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to lead modernization efforts within an enterprise Federal AWS environment.

This role involves leading a team of engineers across multiple projects, architecting modern cloud application environments, and orchestrating deployment and monitoring platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, and federal compliance standards.

Required skills/Level of Experience:

1. Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing multiple projects.
2. Extensive experience with Kubernetes and related technologies (EKS a plus) including blue/green environments, rolling deployments, configuration maps, secrets, reverse-proxy/LB configurations, horizontal pod scaling, etc.
3. Experience architecting, implementing, and maintaining complex CI/CD pipelines in an enterprise DevSecOps environment.
4. Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise application/infrastructure monitoring using Elastic, AWS CloudWatch/CloudTrail, or similar.
5. Experience developing and operationalizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar in large enterprise environments.
6. Experience with horizontal on-demand scaling of servers and storage and load balancing.
7. Proficient in architecting and deploying AI solutions on cloud environments (AWS GovCloud).
8. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
9. Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices.
10. Possession or ability to obtain and maintain the required favorably adjudicated DHS Public Trust background investigation.

Preferred Skills/Level of Experience:

1. Certification in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or Kubernetes.
2. Experience with Elastic stack, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Jenkins.
3. Knowledge of ArcGIS and FME ETL tools.
4. Familiarity with SAFe Agile frameworks.
5. Proficiency in Visio for creating system diagrams.
6. Experience containerizing legacy applications.

Clearance: Possession or ability to obtain and maintain the required favorably adjudicated DHS Public Trust background investigation.
