Job summary

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team in Chicago, IL. This position can be 100% remote, with occasional travel as needed.

Responsibilities include leading software engineers, setting technical direction, driving AWS modernization, and ensuring scalable, secure cloud-native solutions using Spring Boot, OpenSearch, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience, with 5+ years in a lead role.
• Strong experience with Java (latest version preferred), Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS/Fargate, IAM, ALB, RDS, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager).
• Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Docker, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, observability, DevOps, and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Leads software engineers in delivering business-critical applications.
• Establishes technical direction and architectural standards.
• Drives AWS cloud adoption and modernization initiatives.
• Ensures solution scalability, performance, security, and reliability.
• Promotes DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and AI-assisted development practices.
• Provides technical leadership and delivery ownership for a team building and operating cloud-native apps on AWS.
• Drives architecture decisions across Spring Boot microservices, OpenSearch, CI/CD, observability, and AWS infrastructure.
• Collaborates with product, architecture, and platform teams to deliver secure, resilient solutions while mentoring engineers.
