Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team in Chicago, IL. This position can be 100% remote, with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience, with 5+ years in a lead role.
Strong experience with Java (latest version preferred), Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs.
Hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS/Fargate, IAM, ALB, RDS, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager).
Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Docker, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, observability, DevOps, and IaC.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads software engineers in delivering business-critical applications.
Establishes technical direction and architectural standards.

Drives AWS cloud adoption and modernization initiatives.
Ensures solution scalability, performance, security, and reliability.

Supports incident resolution, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Provides technical leadership and delivery ownership for a team of software engineers building and operating scalable cloud-native applications on AWS.
Drives architecture decisions, engineering best practices, and solution design across Spring Boot microservices, OpenSearch platforms, CI/CD, observability and AWS infrastructure.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree AND 10+ years of experience, with 5+ years of experience in a lead role

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Strong experience with Java (latest version preferred), Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs.
Hands‑on experience with AWS services, including ECS/Fargate, IAM, Application Load Balancer (ALB), RDS, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.
Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Docker, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, observability, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, event‑driven architecture, and API integrations.
Experience with performance optimization, scalability, and reliability of cloud-based applications.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern software engineering practices.
