Job summary

Huntington National Bank in Detroit seeks a Lead Software Development Engineer to drive advanced cloud-native data ingestion and processing initiatives. You will design, develop, and support enterprise data platforms, leveraging batch, streaming, and event-driven architectures.

This senior role requires guiding technical direction, mentoring engineers, and delivering scalable, secure solutions aligned with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years of software or cloud engineering experience.
• Experience with Java and/or Python in enterprise applications.
• Experience building data platforms for high-volume batch and streaming workloads.
• Experience designing distributed systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, designs, develops, and supports enterprise applications and platform services.
• Evaluates architectural approaches and selects scalable, secure technologies based on requirements, cost, scalability, reliability, and operational supportability.
• Develops cloud-native solutions using APIs, event-driven patterns, and distributed systems principles.
• Provides technical leadership during design reviews and implementation activities.
• Troubleshoots complex production issues and drives root cause analysis and remediation.
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends, cloud technologies, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Mentors less experienced engineers and serves as technical lead on projects.
