Job summary

PTR Global is seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer in Wilmington, DE for a contract role. You will design, develop, and deploy scalable Java/Spring Boot applications in AWS, guiding junior engineers and leading projects through completion.

You will translate business requirements into production-ready designs, conduct code reviews, and apply secure coding and CI/CD practices while leveraging AI to automate SDLC activities.

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Must have experience with AWS and deploying components to AWS.
• Must be able to translate business requirements into production-ready designs.
• Must be able to guide junior and mid-level engineers and lead projects.
• Must conduct code reviews and identify insecure or non-compliant code.
• Must have hands-on coding ability and deliver production-ready solutions.
• Must be able to apply secure coding, CI/CD, resiliency and cloud-native development practices.
• Must communicate clearly and articulate technical concepts.
• Nice-to-have: AWS certifications (Associate or higher) and experience with AWS services like ECS Fargate, Lambda, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Nice-to-have: experience using AI to automate SDLC activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable Java and Spring Boot applications in AWS.
• Translate business requirements into practical system designs and production-ready solutions.
• Lead hands-on coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis across the SDLC.
• Guide junior and mid-level engineers, provide technical direction, and lead projects through completion.
• Apply secure coding, CI/CD, resiliency, infrastructure, and cloud-native development practices.
• Collaborate with business, product, TPM, infrastructure, and project teams while using AI to automate SDLC activities.
