Job summary

Particle41 is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to own the cloud infrastructure strategy, design, and operations for client projects. You will mentor teams, champion automation, and set best practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

You will define reference architectures, IaC standards, and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliability, security, and rapid delivery while collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or platform/infrastructure engineering; leadership experience.
• Experience with two major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and working knowledge of the third.
• Strong IaC background (Terraform preferred) and configuration management (Ansible).
• Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Bash, Go).
• Solid cloud security, IAM, networking, and compliance exposure.

Responsibilities

• Own the DevOps roadmap and align with business goals.
• Define golden path: architectures, IaC modules, templates.
• Accountable for reliability, security posture, and delivery velocity via SLOs.
• Represent DevOps to clients; support discovery, scope work, and advise leadership.
• Mentor DevOps engineers and shape team structure and capability development.
• Lead cloud infra across AWS, Azure, and GCP with Terraform/CloudFormation/Pulumi.
• Architect and operate Kubernetes platforms (EKS/AKS/GKE).
• Define landing zones, accounts, and network topologies balancing security and velocity.
• Evaluate tooling and managed services to meet business requirements.
• Own CI/CD strategy with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins.
• Drive automation-first culture; minimize manual toil; stay hands-on where it matters.
• Establish GitOps workflows (ArgoCD/Flux) for declarative deployments.
• Define observability strategy with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry.
• Own SLIs/SLOs and incident response with blameless postmortems.
• Plan capacity, scaling, and disaster recovery incl. backups.
• Own DevSecOps: secrets management, vulnerability scanning, image signing, policy as code.
• Support SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA compliance with automated controls.
• Drive FinOps and cost reporting to stakeholders.
• Lead and coach teams; conduct reviews; stay current on industry best practices.
