Job summary

CRT seeks a Lead Clinician – Level 3 to provide clinical services and supervise Clinicians at the Windsor Locks site. The role supports program administration and ensures contractual compliance while meeting program metrics.

Requirements include a Master’s Degree, CT license, and a minimum of 2 years of related clinical experience. Bilingual Spanish is preferred; flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is expected.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The Lead Clinician provides clinical services including specialized group and one on one counseling services to program participants. She/he provides guidance and supervision to staff Clinicians. She/he assists the Clinical Management Team with program administration including ensuring contractual compliance and meeting program metrics.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Works with Clinicians to conduct and provide leadership during group activities, and team meetings.
• Supervise staff; Provide guidance and assistance with the development and maintenance of progress notes.
• Supervises staff and workloads as assigned
• Train new staff on process and documentation for services received and outcomes measures in the Clinical Support Services department.
• Completes center data for medical records, data systems, and contractual and departmental requirements.
• Ensure center staffing level meets program demand.
• Collect demographic data, conducts pre-screening and assesses potential eligibility for CRT, DSS or other community-based resources.
• Provide information and referral services and documents outcomes resulting from such referrals.
• Represent CRT at community meetings and outreach events.
• Assign new customers to available case managers and clinicians.
• Conduct service coordination with other organizations and resources.
• Develop comprehensive assessments, (intakes), for customers eligible for services
• Attends staff meetings and assists with supervision and crisis or intervention when needed.
• Coordinates and facilitates weekly supervisory team meetings.
• Work with Clinical Management team to ensure financial stability of the program.
• Perform all essential functions of Clinician II; including but not limited to:
• Provides crisis intervention services in response to emotional and/or physical distress.
• Ensures adherence to infection control practices.
• Collects urine specimens for drug screening.
• Provides counseling services to mentally ill, alcohol dependent and/or homeless AIDS/HIV positive customers.
• Assesses customers in order to formulate treatment needs.
• Orients new patients to treatment program(s).
• Participates in treatment planning and individual and/or group counseling.
• Makes referrals to outside programs for medical and/or psychological intervention.
• Attend all trainings as applicable to your credentials.
• Participation in planning and implementing a minimum of one monthly group activity for program participants, including but limited to: life skills, education, empowerment/support recovery groups, recreational activities and/or field trips.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Qualifications: MINIMUM OUALIFACTIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education: Master's Degree, required

Minimum Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years related clinical experience with homelessness, mental health or substance use and with Supervisory experience preferred.

Active Certification in good Standing: Must be a CT Licensed Clinician (LCSW, LMSW, LADC, LPC, LPCA, LMFT).

Demonstrate skills: Must be computer literate. Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with other service providers. Must be available to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays and other shifts as assigned. Ability to communicate effectively, compile written reports and maintain/review case files. Ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds required. Ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge of: Knowledge with the HIV/AIDS, mental health & substance use disorders (co-occurring) is required. Knowledge of social services in Hartford. Demonstrate ability to work in collaboration with other service providers. Experience in facilitating groups preferred. Knowledge of Human Services, Criminal Justice and the Court systems is preferred. Knowledge of substance use and target population helpful. Counseling background preferred.
