Job summary

Bausch + Lomb in the United States seeks a senior translational scientist to lead nonclinical PK/PKPD, ADME, and pharmacometrics for the ophthalmic drug development portfolio across Rx and consumer products.

You will design and oversee PK/PD studies, guide regulatory strategies, and communicate scientific findings to management while ensuring compliance with ICH and FDA/EMA guidelines. This role emphasizes leadership and collaboration across R&D and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related, with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in PK/PD, pharmacometrics, or systems pharmacology; ophthalmic drug development preferred.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory guidance (FDA/EMA) for ophthalmic products.

Responsibilities

• Leads clinical pharmacology, PK/PD, and pharmacometrics activities across Rx and consumer ophthalmic pipelines.
• Designs and oversees nonclinical PK/TK and clinical pharmacology studies (first-in-human, ocular PK, DDI, QT/QTc, pediatric) as applicable.
• Produces and communicates PK/PD analyses, go/no-go recommendations, and portfolio impact.
• Prepares regulatory submissions sections for IND/CTA, NDA/BLA, and related filings.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of modeling/simulation methods and software (NONMEM, Monolix, WinNonlin, R, Simcyp, GastroPlus, MATLAB).
