Job summary

Arkansas Children's is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I/II to direct workflow, supervise staff, train new employees, and act as a technical resource in the CC094071 Lab.

This safety-sensitive, full-time role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 4 years of experience; certification options include MT-AMT/ASCP/NCA. Strong analytical skills and attention to quality control are essential for timely, accurate results and collaboration with Pathology.

Qualifications

• Directs workflow according to clinical priority.
• Supervises employees and supports manager.
• Trains new employees and students.
• Performs advanced computer functions.
• Oversees data collection.
• Liaison to Pathology.
• Performs laboratory procedures and calculates, transcribes and records test results.
• Manages specimens for analysis, recognizes normal vs. abnormal results; communicates and documents critical values to the appropriate individual.
• Performs quality control testing, proficiency testing, and manual results review.
• Performs maintenance and/or calibration procedures on laboratory instruments and/or equipment then troubleshoots instruments and/or test system malfunctions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
