Job summary

The Tatitlek Corporation seeks a Clinical Laboratory Lead Consultant to oversee laboratories performing high complexity clinical analysis under CLIP. You will provide expert guidance on test quality, ensure CLIP compliance, and supervise staff to maintain accurate, timely reporting.

You will ensure testing systems support pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases with robust QC/QA and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Be a doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy licensed to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State in which the laboratory is located and be certified in clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology or the American Osteopathic Board of Pathology or possess qualifications that are equivalent to those required for such certification.
• Option 2: Be a doctor of medicine, doctor of osteopathy, or doctor of podiatric medicine licensed to practice medicine, osteopathy, or podiatry in the State in which the laboratory is located and have at least 1 year of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology with a minimum of 6 months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty of virology.
• Option 3: Have an earned doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution and have at least 1 year of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology with a minimum of 6 months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty of virology.
• Option 4: Have earned a master's degree in a chemical, physical or biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and have at least 2 years of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology with a minimum of 6 months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty of virology.
• Option 5: Have earned a bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution and have at least 4 years of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology with a minimum of 6 months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty of virology.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Clinical Laboratory Consultant for laboratories performing high complexity clinical analysis accredited under CLIP.
• Provide expert consultation services with technical advice and guidance on test result quality and interpretation.
• Ensure CLIP compliance and that the laboratories' quality management system meets requirements.
• Ensure testing covers pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases with quality results.
• Maintain QC and QA programs and develop corrective action plans for deviations.
• Provide regionally, timely briefings as appropriate.
• Maintain clear communication with Lab Managers/Directors for awareness and feedback.
• Oversee operation and administration of the laboratory, including qualified personnel and reporting results.
• When qualified, perform duties of clinical consultant or delegate to qualified staff.
• Ensure consultant responsibilities are properly carried out if duties are reapportioned.

Education

Option 1: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) licensed to practice in the state where the laboratory is located and board certified in clinical pathology

Option 2: MD/DO or podiatric medicine licensed with 1 year lab training or experience, 6 months in high complexity virology

Option 3: Doctoral degree in chemical/physical/biological/clinical laboratory science with 1 year training/experience in high complexity microbiology and 6 months in virology

Option 4: Master's degree in chemical/physical/biological/clinical laboratory science with 2 years training/experience in high complexity microbiology and 6 months in virology

Option 5: Bachelor's degree in chemical/physical/biological science or medical technology with 4 years training/experience in high complexity microbiology and 6 months in virology
