SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn is seeking a full-time Lead Technologist, TH Clinical Lab Technologist 2 in Chemistry & Immunology to oversee clinical laboratory procedures and lead the Chemistry and Hematology laboratories.

The successful candidate will supervise staff, ensure compliance with departmental, hospital, and government regulations, train personnel, maintain inventory, and coordinate administrative operations while ensuring a smooth workflow and flexibility in

Qualifications

BS degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical, or Biological Science.
New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure.

Responsibilities

Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.
Function as the Lead Technologist.
Adhere to departmental, hospital, and government regulations.
Train personnel in technical methodologies and interpretation of results.
Maintain laboratory inventory and statistics.
Assign appropriate staff to assure a smooth workflow.
Assist in coordinating administrative operations for the laboratory.
Demonstrate flexibility, as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description.
