Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare in Murray, Utah, is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technical Consultant to provide technical and scientific oversight across laboratory specialties, including instrument evaluation and test validations. You will work with staff, leadership, and QA to implement new technology and testing while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The role requires a BS in a lab-related field and at least five years of clinical lab experience; ASCP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in laboratory science from an accredited institution.
• Five years clinical laboratory experience; education verified.
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred; education verified.

Responsibilities

• Establish and ensure SOPs and QC programs are in place and followed per CLIA/CAP guidelines.
• Support the supervisor with personnel duties: investigations, root cause analysis, training, competency assessment.
• Maintain bench competency and shifts; participate in on-call as required.
• Lead system work groups; support standardization initiatives within Laboratory Services.
• Collaborate with Medical Director and QA Coordinator to set performance parameters and monitor compliance.
• Ensure participation in external proficiency surveys and complete corrective action reports.
