Job summary

PIH Health Downey is seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to assist the laboratory director in managing the department's staff and daily operations. You will help drive process improvements, revise technical procedures, and ensure compliance with CLIA, DHS, CAP, Joint Commission and internal policies.

The role requires California CLS licensure and a minimum of five years’ clinical lab experience, including at least one year in an acute care hospital lab.

Qualifications

• Active California Clinical Laboratory license.
• 5+ years as clinical laboratory scientist (medical technologist) with solid knowledge of all lab sections, including one year in acute care hospital lab.

Responsibilities

• Assist the laboratory manager/director in managing the assigned department(s) and staff and day-to-day operations, including process improvement, technical procedure revision, and staff scheduling.
• Handle interview processes, staff performance reviews, coaching, training, competency development and assessment, and employee relations.
• Ensure department compliance with policy and regulatory standards, and oversee quality assurance/improvement efforts.
