Job summary

Michigan Medicine, in collaboration with the AMSI, seeks a Lead Clinical Exercise Physiologist to oversee testing protocols for high-performance athletes and NIH-funded bone health research. The role involves managing equipment, data collection, and translating findings into innovation and clinical impact.

The successful candidate will hold an ACSM-CEP or equivalent, possess 3–5 years of relevant experience, and be capable of leading multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in kinesiology, exercise physiology, clinical physiology or related field.
• 3–5 years hands-on metabolic testing and indirect calorimetry calibration.
• Competence in running, reading, and interpreting 12-lead ECGs during maximal/submaximal testing.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple timelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead setup and maintenance of physiology equipment (Cosmed, ECG, lactate testing).
• Conduct in-lab and field exercise testing (VO2max, thresholds, running economy).
• Analyze data and contribute to manuscripts and conferences.
• Mentor students and oversee project operations.
