Job summary

Movement in San Francisco is seeking a Part-time Climbing Instructor III for Programs. You will lead lead climbing sessions, teach core skills to youth and adults, and foster a safe, inclusive environment. The role emphasizes program leadership, risk management, and collaborative growth within our climbing community.

Prior climbing experience is required; teaching experience is a plus. Expect weekday evenings and weekend mornings, with a starting pay range that reflects experience and shift

Qualifications

• Passion for climbing, yoga, or fitness and willingness to learn.
• Open to learning from others and collaborating to achieve common goals.
• Interest in working with both children and adults to provide transformative experiences.
• Relentlessly positive and upbeat attitude to inspire others.
• Prior climbing experience required; prior instruction experience preferred.
• Lead climbing skills required.
• Ability to teach at least 1 lead class per month; evening and weekend schedules.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate climbing experiences while managing risks for participants and community.
• Communicate effectively with clients of all ages and abilities with empathy.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and finding solutions.
• Teach climbing skills from curriculums and foster inclusive spaces.
• Write lesson plans supporting program goals and participant growth.
• Coordinate with coworkers and supervisors about feedback and concerns.
• Learn from mistakes and seek help when needed to improve.
• Develop skills to communicate with others and build partnerships.
