Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to manage a field crew in Indianapolis, IN. The office is outdoors, with daily exposure to varied weather conditions and client sites.

You will direct crew members, supervise equipment, and execute assigned arboricultural tasks with a focus on safety, quality, and efficient work delivery. This role offers growth opportunities through the Career Development Program.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and lead a crew using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
• Safely and productively lead a crew in arboricultural care for clients.
• Follow H.O.P.E. jobsite planning and equipment process.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
