Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to join our outdoor operations in Gaithersburg, MD. You will direct a crew, plan tasks, and safely perform arboricultural care for clients using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.

Required: love of the outdoors, completion of Davey training and safety courses; preferred ISA/TCIA certifications and pesticide licenses. This is a permanent, full-time role with travel up to 25% and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must love outdoor conditions and working outdoors.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree orientation and safety training on hire.
• First aid, CPR, and defensive driving training to be completed on hire.
• Preferred licenses and certificates related to arboriculture.
• ISA/TCIA certifications are preferred for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Directs crew members and equipment to plan and execute assigned work.
• Lead a crew in arboricultural care for clients, safely and productively.
• Perform pruning, thinning, and removal of deadwood in tree canopies.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees and mentor crew through Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and lifts.
