Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to manage an outdoor crew and deliver professional tree care services.

You will supervise climbing operations, coordinate equipment, and ensure safety protocols while mentoring team members through Davey’s career development program. Applicants should have ISA certifications preferred and be prepared for an on-site role in various locations across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Licenses or certificates in pesticides preferred; ISA Arborist/TCIA certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs crew members and equipment and plans and executes assigned work.
• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Lead crew safely in arboricultural care for clients.
• Manage jobsite hazards, obstacles, plan and equipment (HOPE) process.
• Prune, thin and remove deadwood in canopies; install cables/bracing/lighting protection.
• Remove hazardous trees and mentor crew through Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools including chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts.
