Job summary

The YMCA in Westfield, NJ is seeking a Lead Cleaner/Housekeeper to manage daily room setup/breakdowns, deliveries, laundry, floor care and general facility cleanliness. You will follow the YMCA’s core values while performing cleaning tasks and supporting events.

Requirements include 3 years of commercial cleaning experience, English proficiency, and certifications (BLS, First Aid, EPI, Asthma) within 90 days of hire, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must have ASHI BLS, First Aid, EPI and asthma certifications or equivalent within 90 days.
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial cleaning experience.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Professional, detail-oriented and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and breakdown rooms for programs, meetings and events.
• Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, gyms, bathrooms and floors.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and store properly.
• Restock supplies and manage trash/recycling per policy.
• Launder linens and towels, deliver to designated areas.
• Perform additional housekeeping projects as assigned.
