Job summary

Community YMCA in Lansdowne, PA is seeking dependable housekeeping team members to maintain a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for members, guests, and staff. Evening and weekend availability required.

Responsibilities include cleaning duties, operating equipment, reporting repairs, restocking supplies, and setting up spaces for events. You will help keep the building secure during shifts and participate in required trainings.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16.
• CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Completion of required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Keep YMCA clean and attractive per daily schedule and maintain assigned area.
• Operate related motorized and non-motorized cleaning equipment.
• Record and report repairs; perform directed fixes as needed.
• Ensure building and property security during shift and report hazards.
• Replace soap, towels, and other supplies.
• Set up furniture/equipment for daily events and activities.
• Collaborate with Housekeeper/Custodian II or higher and maintain professionalism.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Contribute to overall safety and success of Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.

Job description

We're seeking driven, dependable, and detail-oriented individuals to join our housekeeping team. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for our members, guests, and staff. Must have evening and/or weekend availability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.
2. Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
3. Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
4. Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
5. Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
6. Sets up furniture/equipment according to daily schedule for events.
7. Performs duties with Housekeeper/Custodian II or higher.
8. Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
9. Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings as required.
10. Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum age of 16.
2. Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid within 30
days of hire.
3. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
4. Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
5. Completion of required trainings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.
2. Ability to erect and stand on ladders and platforms at heights up to 30 feet.
3. Ability to work with paint, cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.
4. Ability to paint, clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed.
5. Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
6. Ability to perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi – reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; carrying, working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back.

7. Able to lift and carry 15-50lbs.

8. Must be able to see, hear, direct, and assist members, guests, and staff to ensure safety.
