Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International seeks a Lead Claims Specialist, HPL, in a 4:1 Hybrid role at Alpharetta or Kennesaw, GA. Manage hospital medical liability, general liability, auto, and managed care claims, with investigations, liability/damages assessment, and settlements for Excess Healthcare.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree, state adjusting licenses, and 6 years of US-based claims experience. Strong communication and leadership are essential, with up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in business admin, risk management or insurance.
• State adjusting licenses are required.
• Six years of progressive medical professional liability claims experience in the US.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of claims to minimize company risk of loss.
• Analyze and draft coverage letters; communicate positions to insureds and brokers.
• Conduct proactive claim investigations; maintain diaries per file.
• Set timely reserves and provide concise leadership reports.
• Direct outside counsel and vendors as needed.
• Negotiate settlements and attend court proceedings as required.
• Complete regulatory reporting and mentor junior staff.
