Job summary

Gulf Companies seeks a Principal Designer – Civil/Structural to lead detail design within the Civil/Structural discipline in Houston, TX. The role focuses on complex CAD-driven designs for foundations, steel structures, and civil site work, with oversight of CAD operators and project teams.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years drafting experience, strong CAD skills (CadWorx, Civil 3D) and knowledge of codes.

Qualifications

10+ years drafting experience in foundations, structural steel platforms and civil site work.
5+ years CAD experience, including 3D design with CadWorx.
Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards.
Leadership experience preferred.
AutoCAD 2012 and Civil 3D for site design preferred.
Ability to convert engineering input and vendor data into drawings.

Responsibilities

Perform complex designs and layouts of concrete foundations, structural steel supports and platforms, civil site layouts and steel buildings using CAD.
Review vendor drawings and other documents.
Train and direct CAD operators and Designers as required.
Ability to function in lead roles on projects.
