Job summary

The Ruhlin Company in Sharon Center, OH is seeking a Lead Project Engineer for its Civil Division. This role focuses on cost control, revenue tracking, and coordination between field operations and the office to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities include reviewing phase codes, maintaining cost logs, assisting with schedule updates, RFIs/submittals, and mentoring junior staff while upholding safety plans and project quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management and organization skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review phase codes and track costs against budget.
• Develop and maintain logs for self-perform work including quantities and subcontractors.
• Review production and cost data with the Superintendent to ensure accuracy.
• Track owner-directed changes and ensure timely compensation.
• Support subcontractor pricing collection, compilation, and evaluation.
• Prepare draft owner billings for Project Manager review.
• Monitor and maintain awareness of monthly cash flow.
• Assist with progress schedule updates per contract requirements.
• Prepare, review, and submit RFIs and submittals.
• Obtain and maintain required project permits.
