Job summary

BKF seeks a Civil Infrastructure Engineering Manager with land development expertise to lead the Bay Area team. California licensed P.E. with 7+ years’ experience will mentor staff, guide complex site development projects, and drive project delivery across grading, drainage, and utilities.

The role collaborates with project managers and production teams, overseeing QA/QC, proposals, and client engagements to sustain BKF’s leadership in land development in the region.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• 7+ years of progressive land development project delivery experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication with mentoring ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of small to medium land development projects.
• Support budgeting, invoicing and monthly billing activities.
• Supervise and mentor engineering staff.
• Plan tasks, delegate, and coordinate team efforts.
• Act as professional-in-charge and resolve complex technical issues.
• Manage grading, drainage, and utility design for site projects.
• Prepare reports, master plans, specs and cost estimates.
• Ensure QA/QC and identify out-of-scope work.
• Collaborate with design teams and provide training.
• Prepare proposals with scope, schedule and fees.
• Serve as primary client contact and manage sub-consultants.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local standards.
• Support business development and cross-selling opportunities.
