Job summary

HDR is seeking a senior civil/environmental project engineer with strong project management skills to lead civil/site designs for waste-related projects in a team-driven, employee-owned culture. You will plan, design, permit, and manage construction for landfills, brownfields, and remediation efforts while coordinating with clients and communities.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of related experience, plus at least 2 years of project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• 7+ years related experience including project management.
• Ability to interact with design teams and strong communication skills.
• Active engagement in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of civil/site and environmental projects (landfills, vertical facilities, brownfields, remediation).
• Experienced with storm water controls, groundwater monitoring and remediation networks, leachate management systems, landfill gas collection and control systems, and site layout/infrastructure elements.
• Function as a lead project designer, engineer of record, and project manager on small to large projects, and demonstrate history of leading similar projects.
• Assist team leadership in sustaining and growing client relationships and contributing to business development opportunities.
• Identify upcoming project opportunities and participate in project pursuit and proposal development, including scopes of work and budgets.
• Coordinate and interface with junior staff to mentor and grow the team.
• Other duties as required.
