The City of Overland Park is seeking a full-time Supervisory Civil Engineer in the Planning & Development Services Department. The role oversees professional staff, coordinates development reviews, and provides staff assistance to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer registration in Kansas or registration in another state with Kansas registration required within one year of hiring.
• Master's degree in engineering, public administration, or business preferred.
• Valid driver's license with insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Engineer of the Day and manages the Division's schedule.
• Develops recommendations and technical reports on engineering matters.
• Advises City Council and Planning Commission on engineering issues.
• Reviews construction plans for private/public improvements for compliance with codes.
• Coordinates Planning Commission process and assigns work to staff.
• Prepares final review and coordinates with divisions on development reports.
• Represents the City in court on private development issues.
