Monterra is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to own the civil discipline across the firm, coordinating with electrical design for integrated site solutions. You will guide grading, drainage, and foundation work for data centers, EV charging sites, and power infrastructure, while shaping Monterra's civil standards and collaborating with AI tools to improve design processes.

You will manage plan-check responses, liaise with AHJs, and drive quality in accelerated delivery, while advocating for

Competenze

• Active civil PE license in California; comity licensure in other states.
• 7+ years of site/land development design including plan checks to permit.
• Working structural competence for pads, footings, and anchorage (ACI 318, ASCE 7, IBC / CBC).
• Fluency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong communication skills to explain engineering rules to teammates outside your field.

• Develop grading, drainage, and foundations for equipment yards, data center pads, and charging lots.
• Coordinate civil and electrical design for coordinated outputs and plan-check responses.
• Respond to AHJ civil plan-check comments through to permit.
• Seal civil and structural sheets as the engineer in responsible charge of civil across the firm.
• Set Monterra's civil standards, templates, drawing conventions, and QC checklist.
• Document design decisions and coach our AI agent with rules of thumb and AHJ requirements.
