Position Overview

Kiewit Engineering Group, Inc. is a full-service consulting and engineering firm serving oil and gas markets in partnership with Kiewit construction entities. Our rapidly growing oil and gas team includes structural, civil, piping, mechanical, process, process safety, electrical, instrument and control disciplines, focused on the EPCC delivery of complex and dynamic process facilities.

Location

This position is based out of our Energy Corridor Office in Houston, TX and typically requires less than 10% travel. Opportunities for flexible work are available.

Responsibilities
  1. Experience focused in site development engineering with strong technical background in general site civil design, drainage/detention systems, grading, underground utilities and roads/paving.
  2. Perform civil engineering calculations and designs under the general supervision of a senior civil engineer.
  3. Capable of performing complex hydrologic & hydraulic calculations to develop drainage and grading drawings.
  4. Participate in detailed civil engineering computations and site designs including engineering analysis, feasibility studies, preparation of drawings and specifications, report writing, cost estimating for FEED, Detailed Design and EPC projects.
  5. Clearly conveys messages and ideas and works collaboratively across disciplines.
  6. Follows through on commitments made to internal and external customers.
  7. Manage multiple responsibilities and tasks concurrently.
  8. Utilize industry and company standards to design and engineer effectively.
  9. Develop small to mid-size projects or proposals.
  10. Prepare and/or assist with quantity take-offs and construction cost estimates.
  11. Work with and direct designers to develop engineering and design documents as needed for the project.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering minimum required.
  2. 4-10 years minimum relevant civil engineering experience in petrochemical, midstream, or LNG industry.
  3. Strong technical background in general site civil design, drainage systems, grading and roads/paving.
  4. Knowledgeable in multiple engineering design software. Strong AutoDesk Civil 3D with Storm & Sanitary Analysis (SSA) and HydroCad experience is a must.
  5. Licensed Professional Engineer with NCEES record preferable.
  6. Can provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
  7. Works collaboratively across departments.
  8. Serves as point of contact for external or internal customers.
