The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development state office is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to guide engineering and environmental protection functions associated with RD program activities and internal review processes.
You will advise on engineering aspects of housing and business programs, coordinate team work, and provide technical leadership to ensure compliant and effective project design and execution.
This position is located in the state office throughout Rural Development (RD). The incumbent will serve as a Lead Civil Engineer and provide guidance on engineering and environmental protection functions associated with program activities and certain Internal Review functions.
A transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education Basic Requirements: Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
