Job summary

Child Development Schools in Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking a Lead Teacher to guide a classroom through discovery, learning, and growth. You will create a warm, safe, and engaging environment where children explore through hands-on activities, stories, and daily routines, fostering curiosity and kindness.

You will collaborate with families, document progress, and ensure licensing and safety compliance while supporting a passionate teaching team dedicated to early childhood education.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with families.
• Background check required.
• Completion of 12 hours of childcare training within 30 days of hire; we will assist with training.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons and activities.
• Keep the classroom safe, organized, and compliant with licensing and ratio requirements.
• Observe and document each child's development and share progress with families.
• Build relationships with parents through daily communication and conferences.
• Complete required documentation including attendance, incident reports, and assessments.
