Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support the Assistant Teacher in daily care of children.

  • Observe and document milestones; communicate with families regularly.
  • Comply with licensing, health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Participate in staff meetings and Quality Rated training.

Job description

Summary

At Chroma Early Learning Academy, a Lead Childcare Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing a structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This role involves designing curriculum that supports children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth, and ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom setting. The Lead Teacher oversees and guides assistant staff, manages daily classroom operations, and maintains open communication with families regarding children’s progress and needs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, and knowledgeable in early childhood education, with strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.


Duties


  • Support the Assistant Teacher in the daily care of the children in the classroom.

  • Ensure the classroom environment is safe, clean, and engaging, aligned with Georgia DECAL and Quality Rated standards.

  • Collaborate with the team to implement an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes sensory exploration, early communication, and gross motor development.

  • Observe and document developmental milestones and maintain regular communication with families.

  • Comply with all licensing and program guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation.

  • Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training required for Quality Rated compliance.


Requirements


  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Ability to Pass a Background Check

  • Ability to meet all requirements under Georgia a0from the Start and Quality Rated guidelines.

  • Ability to be relied upon, work collaboratively as part of a team, and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning.

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).

  • CDA,TCC, or Paraprofessional certificate Required

  • Passion for early childhood education and the social-emotional well-being of young children.
