Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a Day shift, full-time Labor & Delivery Charge Registered Nurse in Topeka, Kansas.

The RN Charge will oversee shift management, monitor quality of care, and serve as liaison to keep the Nurse Manager and House Supervisor informed of unit needs. Strong leadership and clinical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing required.
• Current Kansas RN licensure.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred/unit-specific.
• ACLS certification required for unit; obtain if not already.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous RN experience in healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shift management and monitor quality of care for the unit.
• Serve as liaison to keep the Nurse Manager and House Supervisor informed of major occurrences.
• Provide first-level supervision, assign patients each shift, and support nursing staff.
• Mentor new associates, partner with academics, participate in annual performance reviews.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Assess patient/family needs, develop and revise care plans to meet needs.
• Delegate care to optimize patient outcomes.
• Adhere to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.
